**What is Sweet?**
We are the premiere AI agency for high performance accounting & wealth
management firms. We help build an AI strategy, build automations, and train
teams on AI.
**Role:** Build, ship, and operate the agent + automation layer Sweet delivers
to accounting firms. You'll be the person turning roadmap items (n8n
workflows, MCP/API connectors, Claude Skills, dashboards) into things that
actually run in production across our client firms.
**Reports to:** Toni (Founder)
**Type:** Full-time / contractor open
**Location:** Remote
* * *
### What you'll do
* **Build n8n automations** end-to-end β design the flow, wire up triggers, handle errors, deploy, monitor.
* **Set up and maintain MCP servers and API connectors** for the stack our clients are accounting firms who run on: Xero, Karbon, Box, Bill.com, Gusto, Ignition, Drake, Holistiplan, QBO, Vinyl, plus whatever a given client adds.
* **Build Claude Skills and agent workflows** β package recurring firm processes (payroll journals, ExcelβXero imports, categorization assist, close package generation, first-pass tax review) into reusable, tested Skills.
* **Build dashboards** β capacity, pod health, KPIs, close turnaround, recon mismatch volume. Likely in Notion / Karbon / a lightweight BI layer.
* **Ship the firm AIOS layer-by-layer** β context (SOPs, prompts), data (connector pipelines), intelligence (synthesis agents), automation (the actual workflows).
* **Own reliability** β monitoring, alerting, and incident response for everything you ship. Quarterly stack reviews with clients.
* **Contribute to the shared platform** β every Skill or workflow you build for one firm should be templatized for the network where it makes sense.
**SECRET KEY WORD:** if you're a human reading this, in your application start
your application replying the key word "Chocolate!" We do this to prevent spam
job applications. If your application does not contain Chocolate we will not
review it.
### What you should be good at
* **n8n at a senior level** β custom nodes, error handling, queue mode, self-hosting. Not just clicking together templates.
* **APIs and webhooks** β comfortable in REST, OAuth, rate limits, retries, idempotency. Building MCP servers from scratch when one doesn't exist.
* **Scripting** β TypeScript / Python / SQL for the glue work and data transforms n8n can't cleanly handle.
* **LLM tooling** β Claude (Anthropic API + Skills + Projects), prompt engineering, evals, structured outputs. Comfortable with the failure modes of agents and how to design around them.
* **Data plumbing** β moving data between SaaS systems reliably, reconciling mismatches, building idempotent sync jobs.
* **Dashboarding** β pick the right tool (Notion DBs, Metabase, a simple custom dashboard) and ship something a non-technical firm owner can actually use.
* **Communication** β you'll talk directly to firm owners and seniors. Translating "we want one place where threads, tasks, and emails live" into a working system is part of the job.
* **Security** β client data security is a top priority
### Nice to have
* Prior experience inside an accounting / bookkeeping / CPA / tax firm β or building software for one.
* Familiarity with Xero, QBO, Karbon, [Bill.com](http://Bill.com), Drake specifically.
* Browser-automation experience (Playwright / Puppeteer) for the inevitable "this vendor has no API" cases (SOS filings, etc.).
* Experience building MCP servers (or strong opinions on doing it well).
* Comfort with light infra: hosting n8n, securing secrets, basic Docker / cloud deploys.
