Who are you:
As the Lead Software Engineer at Recess, you will be instrumental in building
the core of our platform, driving the implementation of cutting-edge AI
technologies to deliver personalized content, recommendations, and
interactions. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of our

high-quality, impactful product. Your technical expertise, product focus, and
ability to move quickly will be crucial in building and scaling our platform
to meet the needs of our growing community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a small team of Engineers through the development and deployment of our platform across web, iOS and Android using React Native and Vercel.
* Lead the integration of generative AI technologies within the Recess platform, enhancing user experience through personalized content, interactions, and recommendations.
* Partner closely with the founders and product design to define and refine the product vision and roadmap for the platform.
* Build and maintain high-quality code, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
* Leverage data to inform decision-making, optimize user experience, and drive product improvements.
* Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
* Mentor engineering talent on the team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and strong product sense.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in product engineering, with a strong portfolio of projects built with React or native technologies.
* Deep understanding of the full software development life cycle, including automated testing and building scalable applications.
* Proven experience in developing and deploying AI-driven applications, with a solid understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and data analytics.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically through rapid prototyping and A/B testing
* Experience in a startup environment, comfortable with ambiguity and ready to tackle challenges with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Savvy with tooling to enable you to be efficient, quickly test/learn, and move fast.
* Passion for the parenting space and a commitment to creating a positive impact for families.
