Healthcare insurance denials is a massive problem, causing thousands to go
into massive debt every year. At Pinetree Health, we’re building modern
infrastructure to fix that, using AI to overturn insurance denials. We’re
post-revenue, growing fast, and backed by strong early believers. We’re now
expanding to go from v1 to category-defining.
**The Job**
We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to join our tight-knit team. You’ll work
directly with the CEO to ship core systems, own major parts of the product,
and shape the company’s engineering DNA.

**Qualifications**
* 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a track record of delivering production systems end-to-end
* Experience in fast-paced startup / FAANG / high-ownership environments
* Strong experience working with AI systems
* Strong systems thinking — you can design clean abstractions and scalable architectures
* Excellent communication skills — able to collaborate tightly with a small team, clearly articulate decisions, and ask the right questions
* Previous exposure to regulated industries, healthcare, or financial systems is a plus (but not required)
* Prior publications in top AI conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR etc. is a plus but not required
