Job Description
Hope Street Group is a small, but growing and forward-thinking non-profit that
helps develop economic opportunities for students across the US. We’re on a
mission to democratize career education and career discovery, making it
accessible, engaging and ethically sound for all students. Our innovative
mobile platform empowers students to navigate career exploration with AI;
through our app, we are inspiring students to discover new careers and
understand how to make progress towards their aspirations.
We have had over 1000 students use our app, and are seeing long-term app
retention with high levels of engagement outside of class, some even learning
about careers as early in the morning as 4 a.m.!.
As a Senior Product Designer and founding member of Hope Street Group, you
will join a team with a (healthy!) obsession for creating impactful digital
experiences that advance career discovery and career education for high school
students. Our goal is to design software that assists all students in
transitioning from high school to working life. Ultimately, we aim to increase
their chances of finding meaningful work that aligns with their personal and
financial goals.
This role will report directly to our CTO, Will Hanson.
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about making a meaningful
difference for all students. They possess a strong desire and willingness to
understand the world our students inhabit, including their interactions with
parents, teachers, and professionals. It is essential to consider all these
personas in the students' lives when creating new experiences. While HSG is
planning to expand to all schools throughout the United States our current
growth focus is on low-income and high-needs schools. For this reason, empathy
for and lived experiences in these communities are a huge plus.
**You’re a designer who has experience with:**
* mobile app design (Android and iOS) with at least one iPhone App that has seen users at-scale
* building new UX patterns/behaviors and familiarity with the latest UI/UX trends (e.g. generative AI design patterns)
* some product research and product execution experience (any experience in these will be a plus)
