**Who We Are**
We’re a defense startup building a compact, high-energy electromechanical
platform that solves some of the hardest problems in modern point protection.
You’ll join a small, multidisciplinary team moving from prototype to
operational test on an accelerated schedule.
**What You’ll Do**
* Structure Design & Analysis: a high-speed rotating assembly—including feed, trigger, and support housing—from first principles through detailed design.*
* Own FEA / CFD / thermal analysis to ensure structural integrity, balance, and heat management across the full operating envelope.*
* Design Mechanical System that handles projectiles with widely varying material properties and compressibility.*
* Package the system meeting size / weight targets for one-pallet deployment and 360° coverage.
* Define verification plans (shock, vibe, thermal, dust, EMI) and run test campaigns to MIL-STD-810A or aerospace equivalents.
* Collaborate daily with control-software, power-electronics, and manufacturing partners to turn analysis into field-ready hardware.
**What You Bring**
* B.S. (advanced degree preferred) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
* 7+ years designing high-speed turbomachinery hardware, defense systems, or micro/gas turbine structures.
* Mastery of structural FEA and rotordynamics (ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, etc.) and proficiency with transient thermal / CFD tools.
* Demonstrated path from concept through prototype and into production, including supplier engagement and DFM/DFA release.
* Hands-on approach—comfortable iterating in CAD, overseeing builds, and troubleshooting on the shaker table.
**Nice-to-haves**
* Experience with linkless or belt-fed magazines, automated loaders, or other jam-critical mechanisms.
* Composite or additive-manufactured structures for weight-constrained, vibration-rich environments.
* Background in condition-based monitoring or digital-twin health models.
* Comfortable using AI expediting the development process.
**Why Join Us**
* Deep impact: Your designs will be in field tests—fast.
* Resources & autonomy: Small team, big ownership. Actively in talks with the DoD.
* Cutting-edge tech: Work at the intersection of advanced mechanics, controls, and AI-driven fire-control software.
* Compensation: Competitive Hourly & Equity. Opportunity to become a full time role. Initial work will be contract basis and equity grants based on milestones. Salary details are based on an annualized rate.
