**Used Mobile Homes USA (UMH)** is the largest dedicated online marketplace
for buying and selling pre-owned mobile homes. Over 21 million Americans live
in a mobile home, and the resale market is over $51B annually. UMH is the
first platform that enables customers to buy and sell their homes simply,
safely, and securely. We have secured pre-seed investment, led by Crossbeam
Ventures, and are searching for a world-class Founding Engineer to take the
reins on technology and platform development – and help build the
infrastructure that will improve housing affordability for millions of
Americans.

We’re not just digitizing a market – we are elevating a segment of the housing
economy that has been ignored for decades. You will own technology from the
ground up, and help shape the culture and structure of the company. We’re
looking for a full-stack leader who brings technical depth, strategic clarity,
and operational maturity. You will have the opportunity to define and build
the marketplace product, aligning key technology decisions with business
growth goals. You’ll be expected to set a high bar for execution, develop a
clear understanding of the customer, and make foundational decisions that will
impact millions of homeowners.

**Role and Responsibilities**

* Oversee the end-to-end architecture and development of the future versions of the marketplace, ensuring a user-friendly, performant and scalable – and implementing the proper tech stack for speed without debt.
* Influence the company’s strategic roadmap, anticipating future advantages and obstacles and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains; make critical build vs. buy decisions.
* Lead back-end automation initiatives, such home title verification, as well as integrations with relevant data sources and databases.
* Help advise smart scaling decisions to balance internal staff and outsourced technical talent.

**Qualifications**

* Strong technology leadership and vision, with a demonstrated ability to build products that meet customers where they are.
* Proven experience as senior technology leader. Experience building and scaling marketplace platforms is highly desirable.
* Experience operating in a fast-paced startup environment, preferably at an early-stage.
* Deep technical background with modern web stacks – particularly React, API integrations, database management, and data security. Experience with payments and fraud systems is a plus.
* A strong leadership presence β€” someone who can inspire, motivate, and guide engineering and product teams through growth and uncertainty.
* Ability to attract, develop, lead and retain technical staff.
* Personal experience with mobile homes or a passion for addressing the affordable housing crisis is a plus.
