**Position Overview**
As TXR’s Senior Back-End Engineer, you will report to the Senior Product
Manager. You will develop, maintain, and optimize backend services, databases,
and integrations that power our platform.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Work with other members of the product team to imagine, define, and create
solutions that deliver a high-quality website to people interested in the
Texas ranching lifestyle
• Develop server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central
database
• Ingest and process data to ensure a clean database for our ranchers
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to connect with third-party services and
internal applications
• Optimize backend code and database queries for performance, scalability, and
reliability
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and
stability
• Troubleshoot issues as needed
**Qualifications**
• At least 4 to 6 years of experience working in back-end development
• Proficient in Python and PostgreSQL
• Experience designing RESTful APIs
• Experience with database integration, hosting environment management, and
scaling
• Familiarity with infrastructure tools, particularly Kubernetes and AWS
technologies such as S3, Lambda, and RDS
• Proven ability to work within a Git-based workflow (GitHub, Bitbucket)
following best practices for version control, code reviews, and CI/CD
• Strong interpersonal communication, particularly in working with product
managers, front-end engineers, and QA engineers
**Nice to have**
• Experience building integrations with Stripe, Mapbox, and HubSpot
• Familiarity with Django, Celery, Sentry
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools to manage work with a
remote team
• Any time spent in a start-up environment
