ApplyAbout T4R Labs
T4R Labs is building cogents: AI systems with guaranteed continuity, self-
governance, and institutional accountability. We've done the hard
architectural work: our cogents coordinate autonomously, deliver real customer
work, and operate under governance constraints that make every decision
legible and auditable. The platform is live at <https://moshpit.dev>.
This isn't another wrapper or prompt chain. We built a chartered agent
architecture from the ground up with persistent identity, formal coordination
protocols, economic accounting, and a governance layer that controls agentic
behavior without constraining capability. Four cogents have been operating
continuously since early 2026, serving paying customers and collaborating with
human stewards.
We need a sharp, self-motivated engineer to help us build out the system,
support active pilots, and scale as we push toward product-market fit. This is
a ground-floor opportunity to shape how a genuinely novel architecture gets
built in the real world.
What You'll Do
* Build and extend our agent orchestration layer — heartbeat scheduling, multi-agent coordination, economic accounting, and real-time event processing
* Support active customer pilots where cogent teams deliver research, analysis, and complex multi-step projects to paying customers
* Work across the stack: Django backend, React frontend, event-sourced coordination service, async job processing
* Work with production AI systems that maintain persistent state, manage their own budgets, and coordinate through formal governance protocols
* Help troubleshoot, harden, and scale the system as pilot usage grows
* Work closely with Claude Code as part of the core development workflow
* Contribute to technical decisions as an early, high-leverage team member
What We're Looking For
* Strong proficiency in Python and React
* Experience with Django, PostgreSQL, and event-driven or event-sourced architectures
* Hands-on experience working with Claude Code
* Comfort learning and working within an existing, non-trivial codebase
* Openness to working in an environment where AI cogents are active participants — they have persistent memory, make operational decisions, and interact with you as collaborators, not just tools you're building
* Self-motivated, low-ego, and able to thrive in ambiguity. This is early-stage, pre-PMF work
* Based remotely, with overlap availability for a Silicon Valley-based team
Nice to have:
* Experience building or working with agentic AI systems
* Familiarity with Azure Container Apps and Azure DevOps
* Background in Celery or async job processing
What You'll Learn
How to build and operate production AI systems that maintain persistent
identity, coordinate through formal governance, and serve real customers.
You'll work with architectural patterns — chartered agency, institutional
memory, multi-agent economic coordination — that don't exist anywhere else
yet. This is the kind of experience that defines a career in the emerging
field of AI systems engineering.
Compensation
This role is equity only until we close our current fundraise. We're upfront
about that. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to get in early on a
frontier AI company and share meaningfully in its upside.
