**About Spence**
Spence is a fintech app that provides Cardless Cashback for Health Savings
Accounts. We help employees _and_ their employers capture missed tax savings
on past health expenses. Think of us like a time machine for tax savings.
We’re driven by the core belief that everyone deserves their rightful
healthcare savings— regardless of background, income, or how much they’re able
to save. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager with a strong technical
focus to help us turn this belief into product reality.
**The Job**
Our Senior Product Manager will serve as the operational backbone of how we
build, learn, and ship. You’ll own execution, discipline, and learning loops
that turn strategy into a shipped product. You'll be the connective tissue
between our distributed dev teams, integration partners, and product strategy
— keeping the backlog clean, the language precise, and our roadmap honest.
This is an execution-first role. If you thrive on the challenge of shipping
novel, complex things correctly, keep reading!
**What you'll own**
* **Sprint operations.** Run agile ceremonies across time zones with distributed dev teams. Write tickets so clear a developer reading them in their second language builds the right thing the first time.
* **Partner API translation.** Work directly with our integration partners to understand what their APIs actually do — and more importantly, what they _don’t_ — then translate capabilities and constraints into requirements our dev team can build against.
* **Active cross-functional partnership.** Serve as Product's source of truth for marketing, sales, support and success. Develop and maintain key artifacts (PRDs, tactical user journey maps, feature specs) that our other teams build their work on.
* **Build, measure, learn.** Define feature-level success metrics, manage the product analytics to track them, and run tight loops that turn data into the next sprint’s priorities.
* **UI/UX review & Figma hygiene**. The last set of eyes on copy, labels, and flows before they go live. Keep Figma squeaky clean and organized as a critical source of truth.
* **Roadmap visibility.** Translate sprint reality into an honest narrative for execs and internal stakeholders. Maintain a self-service view of where the build is vs. where we said we'd be.
**Who you are & what you bring**
* 5–7 years in complex product ownership or technical PM, ideally in fintech, payroll, and/or benefits tech
* Track record running distributed dev teams
* Comfort reading API docs and holding your own with engineers
* Obsessive about language precision in a regulated space
* Clear, structured written comms
* Capable of compressing sprint-level details into exec-readable signals
* The ethos that complexity is our problem to solve, not our user’s to navigate
**Nice to have**
* HSA, FSA, HRA, or other reimbursement account product experience
* Experience with HRIS / payroll systems and/or healthcare data
* An early-stage mindset with an inclination to fail fast and learn
**Who we are & how we work at Spence**
We’re a lean, fast-moving team building something novel in a regulated space —
pre-Series A and deep in 0-to-1. Our first pilot client is lined up with a
robust pipeline behind them, which means real momentum and a ground-floor seat
for whoever joins next.
We’re remote-first and async-by-default, with focused, purposeful overlap when
it counts. We prefer direct feedback with short loops and action over analysis
paralysis.
Everything we build runs through our mission: to reclaim rightful healthcare
savings for working Americans. Our work matters to us because we’re putting
real money back in the pockets of everyday people and their families.
Equitable access and inclusivity are core to our premise. We welcome
applicants across all backgrounds, identities, and career paths!
