We’re QDG Health, a group of engineers, scientists, creatives, and operators
(by day at least) working to bring the management of mobility disorders to the
21st century. Mobility disorders face a challenge: the inability to
objectively measure motor symptoms. Patients have no way to relay symptoms,
doctors lack a tool to monitor response to therapy or progression between
visits, and clinical trials waste billions on studies with blurry
measurements.

QDG Health enables on-demand assessment and cost-effective management of
mobility disorders. Our AI-enhanced remote monitoring ecosystem transforms
patient care by remotely capturing motor symptoms in real time that reveal
critical insights into a patient's mobility. The connected care platform
mutually empowers both clinicians and people with mobility disorders, enabling
precise therapies and worldwide access to neurological care.

One of the few truths in life is that behind every good system is a team of
great software engineers. We’re looking for a highly motivated and dedicated
software engineer to help us scale our system to handle the growing demand. As
one of our engineers, you will play a crucial role in creating the next
platform version that both patients and providers will be interacting with.
Your expertise in backend software engineering will be instrumental in
realizing the full potential of the force QDG Health.

**With great power comes these responsibilities**

* Lead the development of version 2.0 of the QDG system
* Develop, maintain, and optimize the system’s web service and web UI
* Enhance our existing tools, platforms, and processes
* Collaborate closely with mobile app developers, hardware engineers, and data scientists to integrate, test, and deploy the complete system both as a standalone web application and within an Electronic Health Record dashboard

**What your first few months will look like**

* Get familiar with the previous code base, improve the stability of the existing code base, and get familiar with the system's current state.
* Finalize the development plan for 2.0 and kickstart the development of the new
* foundation based on TypeScript and a modern development Stack
* Collaborate with the hardware team and clinical team to facilitate the deployment of the system for user testing
* Assist in the software components of the regulatory work needed for our on FDA
* submission

Qualifications

* Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript.
* Demonstrable experience with Node.js, NestJS, React, Next, or related TypeScript/Javascript frameworks.
* Proven experience in unit and integration test development using modern test frameworks focusing on software quality and reproducibility.
* Experience with (not limited to) IDEs such as Visual Studio Code, toolchains, and software configuration management tools (Git and Github)
* Understanding and hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
* Previous experience in a regulated industry is highly preferred.
* Knowledge of or willingness to quickly learn design and development processes, including documentation consistent with software as a medical device standards (IEC 62304) and applicable FDA requirements (21 CFR 820).
