About Opzig

Opzig is building decision intelligence software for healthcare operations.

We help healthcare organizations make better decisions about patient access,
staffing, scheduling, and resource use. After product development and pilot
engagements, the product is in the MVP stage.

About the Role

Opzig is seeking a Founding Data Science Lead to join as a technical co-
founder.

This person will work directly with the founder to shape the product,
technical direction, and future of the company. The role is ideal for an
experienced data scientist, applied scientist, or operations researcher who
wants meaningful ownership and the opportunity to build a company from an
early stage.

Responsibilities

* Lead development of the platform’s data science capabilities
* Build practical, production-ready analytical solutions
* Translate customer and operational problems into product features
* Contribute to product strategy and technical architecture
* Help build and lead the future technical team

Qualifications

* Strong experience in applied data science, machine learning, operations research, statistics, or a related field
* Advanced Python and modeling skills
* Experience turning analytical work into real-world products or operational tools
* Strong communication and product judgment
* Comfort working in an early-stage, ambiguous environment

Healthcare and startup experience are helpful but not required.

Compensation

This is currently an equity-first co-founder opportunity with no guaranteed
salary at the outset.

The listed salary reflects the intended long-term compensation once Opzig
reaches sustainable revenue or raises financing. In the interim, compensation
will consist of founder equity and a mutually agreed revenue-sharing
arrangement.

The role can begin part-time, with the expectation of transitioning into a
full-time leadership position as the company develops.
