At Menow, we’re hiring a full-time Backend Engineer to help us scale a next-
generation social app built for millions of users. This is a remote-first role
for someone working on Eastern Time (New York timezone), with a strong
preference for candidates based in or near New York City (Philly, DC, or
Boston welcome).

We’re funded by the founders of Hugging Face, Angular, and TikTok, and are now
expanding our core engineering team. Given our early stage (private beta), we
value versatile builders who thrive in fast-moving, hands-on environments.

**Qualifications**

* Can ship at incredible speed.
* Must have a strong interest in consumer.
* Must be willing to tackle scaling challenges and around-the-clock support for critical issues.
* Love of the craft, you genuinely care and put your all into your work.
* Strong technical grasp and ability to tackle complex engineering problems.
* Excellent communication and judgment on task prioritizations.
* Like to interact directly with users.

**Bonus**

* History of hackathons and full-stack project development.
* Deep understanding of the Apple ecosystem.
* Proven experience building large-scale userbase.

**Who You Are**

* Experienced with Our Stack: You are proficient with Typescript, NestJS, TypeORM, Postgres, GraphQL, AWS, and familiar with using the Google Maps Platform.
* Skilled in Distributed Systems: Your experience includes working with distributed systems in a production environment.
* Bonus: Background in consumer: You have experience in developing backend systems for social applications.
