About FilmUp
FilmUp is revolutionizing the film production industry with innovative
staffing and payroll software. Our platform's workflows and designs have been
meticulously developed over the past 14 months, with software development
ongoing for the last two years. FilmUp has supported high-profile productions
featuring talents like LeBron James, Usher, Zach King, and many others.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced engineer with expertise in
backend strategy and a strong background in the film industry to lead our
product development. As CTO, you’ll collaborate closely with our founders and
technology partners to drive the next phase of FilmUp’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit and hire top-tier development talent to expand our team.
Manage and collaborate with development teams across Brazil, NY, and LA.
Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to
architect and implement new features.
Oversee the architecture, development, testing, and scaling of the platform
that powers FilmUp.
Define workflows and processes for consistent code management, deployment, and
performance optimization.
Develop core platform functionality to support a growing client base.
Take ownership of our mobile, API, and web platforms, ensuring seamless
operation across all aspects of our multi-sided platform.
Requirements

Film Industry Expertise: Background in film, media, or entertainment is
essential.
B2B Software Experience: Experience with enterprise-level B2B solutions.
Proven Development Experience: At least 5 years of experience building
consumer-facing web applications, services, and APIs.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong JavaScript expertise, with experience using modern front-end frameworks
(React, Angular, Vue, etc.) in production environments.
Experience building and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications or similar MVC
frameworks.
Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server,
SQLite, etc.).
Proficiency in fundamental web technologies (HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
JSON).
Strong Git version control skills.
Attention to Quality: Knowledge of testing, profiling, and debugging best
practices.
Full-Stack Capability: While you may have a preference for front-end or back-
end development, you’re comfortable working across the entire stack as needed.
