Job Description

Approveit builds approval and workflow automation used by publicly traded
companies and large, multi-entity organizations. Our product sits in the
critical path of how finance, operations, and IT teams approve purchases,
vendors, contracts, access, and payments inside Slack, Microsoft Teams, and
email.

We are live with real enterprise customers, real compliance requirements, and
real production scale. We are now looking for a Lead Engineer (Founding-Level)
to own core product development across backend and frontend and to help us
scale the platform.

**The Role**

This is a hands-on role with real ownership.

You will design and build core systems, work directly with the CEO on product
and technical decisions, and take responsibility for how the product performs
in production. As the team grows, you will help set engineering standards and
hire additional engineers.

This is not a “maintain existing code” role. You will be building, evolving,
and scaling systems used by large customers with high expectations.

**What You Will Work On**

* Backend systems powering approval workflows used by enterprise customers
* Frontend product surfaces used daily by finance and operations teams
* Multi-tenant SaaS architecture with security, audit logs, and reliability as first-class concerns
* Background processing, queues, and performance-critical paths
* Deep integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams, ERPs, and third-party systems
* APIs and internal tooling used by customer engineering teams
* Applying AI where it creates real leverage in workflows, automation, or decision support
* Technical roadmap ownership and early hiring decisions

**Technologies**

We use a Python-based backend and a modern React frontend. You will have
influence over architecture and technical direction as we scale.

**What We Are Looking For**

* Senior engineer with strong backend and frontend experience
* Proven experience shipping and owning production systems
* Strong system design and architectural judgment
* Comfortable working directly with founders and enterprise customers
* Bias toward execution and accountability
* Interest in building software that runs core business processes
* Based in San Francisco or the Bay Area or willing to be

**Nice to have**

* Experience with enterprise SaaS, fintech, or workflow automation
* Experience integrating with third-party platforms or APIs
* Experience working with or shipping AI-powered features
