and early-stage company building. Amp it Up Ventures provides hands-on
operational support to its portfolio companies, functioning as a full finance
team for select investments. We're seeking a versatile financial professional
who can thrive in this dynamic environment, serving as an outsourced finance
function for early-stage technology startups. In this role, you'll be the
cornerstone of our 'outsourced finance' model for portfolio companies,
seamlessly integrating the responsibilities of a Controller, Accountant, HR
Administrator, and Compliance Coordinator to provide comprehensive financial
leadership during the critical early stages of company growth.

**Key Responsibilities**
_Financial Management & Accounting_
* Manage full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping operations
* Maintain accurate financial records and chart of accounts
* Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures
* Populate and maintain custom investor reporting templates as required
* Support fundraising activities with financial documentation
* All company monitoring and reporting to investors
_Payroll & HR Administration_
* Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll across multiple entities
* Manage employee benefits administration
* Handle contractor payments and 1099 processing
* Assist with basic HR functions and documentation
* Maintain personnel files and compliance records
_Compliance_
* Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
* Coordinate with external tax professionals and auditors
* Monitor and maintain corporate compliance calendars
_Required Qualifications_
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* 5+ years of accounting experience, with experience working with startups preferred
* Strong knowledge of financial reporting
* Expertise in modern accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
* Experience with payroll systems and HR tools
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
* Excellent organizational and time management skills - hitting deadlines important
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
* Adaptable mindset and enthusiasm for varied responsibilities
_Preferred Qualifications_
* Experience with tech startups and SaaS business models
* Knowledge of equity management and cap table maintenance
* Familiarity with popular startup tools (Carta, Gusto, Bill.com, etc.)
* Experience with financial modeling and forecasting
_Technical Skills_
* Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency
* QuickBooks Online/Xero expertise
* Familiarity with expense management systems
* Knowledge of payroll platforms
* Experience with accounting automation tools
_Working Arrangement_
* Ideal candidate has ability to work in person in Manhattan at least once per week
* Otherwise position with flexible hours
* Initial part-time commitment (roughly 20 hours/week), with potential to grow into full-time role
* Independent contractor status

Compensation will be at an hourly rate of $50 - $100 per hour depending on
experience.
