**About us**

We’re a small, high-impact team building a medical imaging platform that helps
clinicians make better decisions using AI and radiology. Our product is live,
used internationally, and we’re now growing its capabilities to integrate more
deeply with clinical workflows and scale securely in production.

**The role**

We are looking for an experienced engineering team lead with strong technical
depth to take ownership of the backend and infrastructure while guiding the
development of new features and services. This role is a key part of our core
team and will work closely with our frontend developer and machine learning
engineers.

You will be responsible for driving product development across backend,
frontend, and microservices. This includes translating high-level product
requirements into technical plans, defining architecture, and contributing to
the implementation of complex systems. You will help shape the vision of the
platform and ensure the system is scalable, secure, and maintainable.

**Requirements**

Must-have skills:

* Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment on AWS
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
* Strong backend engineering experience with Python and Django
* Familiarity with DevOps best practices and CI/CD pipelines
* Ability to maintain and improve a fully automated pipeline from merge to staging to production with rollback support
* Understanding of system observability, monitoring, uptime, backup, and disaster recovery
* Experience implementing access control, audit trails, and cybersecurity best practices
* Strong grasp of general engineering principles and ability to design secure, well-structured APIs
* Comfortable working autonomously and taking initiative in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have skills:

* Familiarity with Vue.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks
* Experience with large file handling in web environments
* Exposure to PACS systems or DICOM workflows
* Previous work in regulated environments (HIPAA, PHIPA, etc.)
* Experience working with or around machine learning pipelines
