Next Play makes games that people play while watching live sports on TV. We
are looking for a Mobile App Developer to help lead the technical strategy,
execution, and innovation of our engineering department.
This role is an opportunity to build and scale a cutting-edge sports gaming
product from the ground up. As a core member of the founding team, you will
drive our technology vision and help us become a market leader in fantasy
sports and sports gaming.
**Key Responsibilities**
* **Technical Vision & Strategy:** Define and implement a long-term technical roadmap that aligns with our growth ambitions.
* **Product Development:** Build, launch, and scale our mobile (React Native) and desktop applications. Lead all aspects of software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
* **Team Building:** Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team that delivers with speed, innovation, and quality.
* **Scalability & Security:** Ensure the platform can scale to millions of users while maintaining high performance, reliability, and security standards.
* **Data-Driven Decisions:** Establish systems to capture, analyze, and leverage user data to drive product improvements and user engagement.
* **Innovation:** Incorporate emerging technologies (AI/ML, personalization engines) to deliver best-in-class user experiences.
* **Collaboration:** Work closely with the CEO, product, design, and marketing teams to deliver business goals and meet customer needs.
**Requirements & Skills**
* **Proven Leadership:** Experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Lead Architect, ideally in a consumer-facing tech startup or gaming company.
* **Technical Expertise:** Mastery in building and scaling platforms using React, React Native, Node.js, AWS (or similar modern stacks). Experience delivering high-availability, high-traffic applications.
* **Startup Mindset:** Ability to thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and deliver results with limited resources.
