### **💻 About the Role**

As an infrastructure engineer at Compa, you’ll be responsible for designing,
building, and scaling our systems as our company grows.

Here’s what you’ll work on:

### **Cloud Infrastructure**

* Design, develop, deploy, and operate a multi-cloud environment, addressing customer requirements to protect sensitive data while competing with major cloud platforms.
* Scale the reliability, performance, and developer/operator experience for asynchronous compute across data ingestion, data analysis, business intelligence, and AI workloads. As a market data business, powerful network effects are accelerating our growth in customers and data volume.
* Enhance the reliability, performance, and user experience for delivering our application to end-users.
* Collaborate on site reliability efforts, responding to operational issues and implementing improvements over time.

### **Product Infrastructure**

* Design and build software services that empower product engineers to iterate quickly while ensuring reliable, performant, secure, and privacy-first access to Compa’s data network.
* Create infrastructure to enable rapid build-test cycles, supporting fast and efficient product development.

### **Developer Experience**

* Develop tools that empower software engineers to monitor, maintain, and utilize our infrastructure—Compa embraces a strong DevOps philosophy.
* Design solutions that balance speed of development with high security and data privacy standards.
* Improve system observability and operability by enhancing monitoring, tooling, and alerting.

### **Security & Governance**

Compa works with the world’s biggest companies, entrusted with their most
sensitive data. They expect us to maintain exceptional security, data privacy,
and compliance with evolving AI regulations.

* Support SOC2 compliance efforts on cloud infrastructure and surrounding processes.
* Maintain and exceed data privacy standards, including GDPR and CCPA, as required by customers.
* Incorporate security, privacy, and governance standards at the design stage of multi-cloud solutions.
* Assist the Security Team in evaluating risks and implementing infrastructure, DevOps, and developer experience solutions to mitigate them.

### **👋 About You**

* 8+ years of software engineering experience.
* 4+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure on any major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
* Proven track record of successfully scaling systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and vision clearly and succinctly.
* Experience with some or all of the following:
* Python (required)
* PostgreSQL (required)
* Analytical databases like ClickHouse or DuckDB
* SQL and non-SQL storage systems
* Cloud infrastructure (especially AWS)
* Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
* Delivering enterprise-grade SaaS or web-based solutions
* Experience with machine learning infrastructure is a plus but not required.
* Passionate about enabling compensation decisions to be more science-driven by delivering data and insights through software.
