**Senior Software Engineer – Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled and solution-oriented Senior Software Engineer
to join our growing software engineering team. This role is ideal for an
experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, small-company
environment and is passionate about building innovative enterprise software
solutions—especially within low-code/no-code platforms and AI architecture.
As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership of designing,
developing, and implementing scalable software and solutions that address real
business challenges. You will collaborate cross-functionally, mentor junior
team members, and help drive technical strategy while maintaining a hands-on
role in software solution development.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical
acumen, architectural thinking, excellent communication skills, hands-on
experience and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Design, develop, and implement scalable enterprise software capabilities within SitScape’s DEEP software platform to address business needs.
* Lead technical projects from concept through deployment, ensuring quality and efficiency.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify problems and translate them into effective technical solutions.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
* Evaluate and optimize existing systems, processes, and workflows for improved performance.
* Take ownership of system architecture, integrations, and overall solution design.
* Troubleshoot complex issues and implement long-term fixes.
* Participate in strategic planning and contribute to technical decision-making.
* Ensure best practices in development, testing, documentation, and deployment are followed.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* 5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems development, or solution architecture.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design creative, effective solutions.
* Experience working in fast-paced, distributed engineering team environments with shifting priorities.
* Solid understanding of software architecture, system integrations, and technical design principles.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take full ownership of projects.
* Full-stack development experience with JavaScript/ES6+ front-ends and PHP back-ends.
* Proficiency in JavaScript/ES6+ for both client-side and server-side development.
* Experience with PHP for server-side application development.
* Strong SQL skills with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent).
* Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
* Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, or equivalent cloud platforms).
* Familiarity with Linux server environments and basic administration.
* Understanding of Pub/Sub messaging patterns and event-driven architectures.
* Experience working with large, established codebases — comfortable navigating, refactoring, and extending existing systems.
* U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
**Preferred Skills**
* Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) and understanding of graph data modeling.
* Familiarity with vector databases, embedding models, and semantic search.
* Experience integrating ML/AI into production applications is a strong plus — for example, anomaly detection or forecasting on operational/time-series data
* Understanding of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines and LLM integration (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic APIs).
* Knowledge of NLP and information retrieval techniques (neural vs. keyword search).
* Experience with CSS architecture methodologies (BEM, design systems, component libraries).
* Familiarity with canvas-based UIs, drag-and-drop builders, or visual programming interfaces.
* Experience with automated testing frameworks (Puppeteer, Playwright, or similar).
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and deployment automation.
* Familiarity with containerization or virtualization tools (Docker, Proxmox, or similar).
* Proven experience with real-time data processing pipelines or ETL workflows.
* Experience mentoring or leading junior developers.
* Strong documentation and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in enterprise software, AI, and knowledge management.
