We are looking for an experienced Sr. Engineering Manager based in South
America to join our growing team. In this position, you will lead multi-
discipline engineers on our Varsity Tutors For Schools engineering team -
responsible for the technologies powering Nerdy’s learning systems dedicated
to supporting an ever growing number of students in the US education system.
In addition, you will both inform and grow Nerdy engineering culture,
furthering our drive to be the best place on earth to be a technologist. If

**Qualifications:**

* 5+ years of successful leadership experience
* At-scale technical architecture - you’ve designed and built complex yet performant systems.
* Agile development (Scrum or Kanban)
* A strong desire to learn and a passion for educational technology

**Nice to have**

* AWS Services
* Microservice experience
* Test-driven development

**Responsibilities**

* Be responsible for the operation and innovation of the technology platform helping thousands of students be the best they can be.
* Own delivering insightful, accurate and easily consumable student data to school administrators, teachers and parents.
* Provide direction and oversight on technical architectures and systems design.
* Support our engineering staff’s daily feeding and care: championing objectives, monitoring progress, and removing blockers.
* Continually monitor, improve and optimize your teams’ performance - the humans on your team and the systems they’ve created.
* Above all, you inspire, mentor and advocate for the engineers entrusted to your care so they can reach their full potential.
