Work with the founding engineer of Robinhoon Crypto to reshape the future of
finance — Blackwing is looking for a backend engineer to join a small team of
strong engineers working on the hardest problems in crypto.

Our ideal candidate thrives on having full ownership over meaningful areas of
the stack, solving difficult engineering problems, and shipping products that
users will love.

You will join an all star team of engineers and product leaders from companies
like Facebook, Robinhood and LinkedIn — together the team has scaled products
to billions of people and millions in revenue. You will constantly be
challenged, fostered, and motivated to grow to new heights.

Additionally, our non-dilutive token grant with early liquidity gives a
significant edge in compensation over every other startup. If the company does
well, you will be rewarded extremely well!

### Responsibilities

* Focus on high-throughput / high-reliability trading APIs — think sub-second performance!
* Fully take ownership over 0 to 1 projects in a small team — no beurocracy!
* Redefine what's capable in crypto — you'll be on the bleeding edge of crypto!
* Help define Blackwing’s engineering culture and best practices.

### Some Real Life Example of Engineering Challenges

* Indexing Solana million's of daily transactions to build a real-time, sub-second trading infra.
* Building a messaging system which allows secure communication between a blockchain and an arbitrary distributed system.
* Building a matching engine which allows us to handle large amounts of data (order history, trades, positions, etc) while still offering the same sub millisecond transaction latency as an in-memory system.
* Designing a wallet sweeping mechanism that scales to thousands of wallets while keeping transaction costs low.

### The Ideal Candidate

* Senior, IC5+
* Crypto experience ideal, but not necessary.
* Has a track record of successfully leading projects and delivering large scope technical projects at scale.
* Is obsessive about developer experience. Consistently sets high standard for code quality, testing practices, and code review processes.

### Location

We converted a beatiful apartment in Williamsburg off of the Bedford Ave L
stop into an office and mostly work from there — it feels more like a home
with better amenities than you can find a typical office. You're welcome to
work a few days remotely, but ideally, you're working with us in person.
