Job Description

The Role:
We’re looking for a builder who can turn vision into reality faster than
anyone thought possible. As our Lead Engineer / Head of Tech, you’ll combine
stronger engineering fundamentals, AI-native development practices, and
relentless execution to help Techless ship products, prototypes and technical
innovations that advance our mission. You'll spend the majority of your time
building, while also helping elevate the effectiveness of the engineering team
around you.

Ideal Candidate

* Have personally built and shipped products from idea to production
* Have led technical teams while remaining deeply hands-on

* Use AI tools as a force multiplier rather than an occasional convenience
* Enjoy building prototypes, experimenting and solving difficult technical problems
* Can balance speed with stability, quality and long term maintainability

Tasks you will own

* Provide technical leadership across products, platforms and future initiatives
* Establish scalable engineering practices that improve execution, quality and accountability
* Help shape technical strategy and guide key architectural decisions
* Identify opportunities to increase organizational effectiveness through technology
* Design, build and launch meaningful products and features
* Own initiatives from concept through delivery
* Balance speed, quality and customer impact in everything you build
* Leverage AI tools and emerging development practices to accelerate execution
* Improve engineering velocity
* Build repeatable approaches that increase both individual and team output
* Continuously explore and implement new ways of working

The Role is NOT

* A pure people management role
* A meeting heavy executive position
* A maintenance focused engineering job
* A role where strategy replaces execution We expect hands-on building and execution paired with leadership, mentorship and technical strategy.

Job Skills

* 7+ years of software development experience
* Proven experience building and shipping software products from idea to production
* Strong software engineering and system design fundamentals
* Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and increase output
* Ability to rapidly prototype, test and iterate on new ideas
* Experience working across Product, Design and Engineering teams
* Strong ownership, prioritization, and problem solving skills
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
* Startup experience or demonstrated success in fast paced, high accountability environments
* Demonstrated ability to multiply the effectiveness of other engineers while remaining a highly productive individual contributor
* Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers through coaching, feedback and hands-on collaboration
* Experience increasing team output
* Ability to establish accountability while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
* Experience influencing technical decisions and driving execution without relying on a formal authority

Compensation: 100K - 140K
