**The Role:**
As a Full-Stack Developer contractor at Ask A Student, you'll play a vital
role in building and maintaining our web applications. You'll work on both the
front-end (user interface) and back-end (server-side logic) to ensure a
seamless and efficient experience for our student and tutor communities.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Collaborate with technical head, product manager, and CEO to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions.
2. Design, develop, and maintain user-friendly and responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React).
3. Develop secure and scalable back-end applications using server-side languages and frameworks (e.g. Node.js).
4. Build and maintain APIs for data exchange between the front-end and back-end, ensuring smooth communication within our platform.
5. Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
6. Test and debug applications to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest web development technologies and trends to continuously improve our platform.
**Qualifications:**
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Full-Stack Developer.
3. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
4. Experience with a popular front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular).
5. Experience with a server-side language and framework (e.g., Python/Django, Java/Spring, Node.js/Express).
6. Understanding of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
7. Experience with version control systems like Git.
8. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
9. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
10. A passion for education and a desire to contribute to a positive learning environment.
**Bonus Points:**
1. Experience with building online networking platforms or educational technology.
