**The Founding Opportunity**
Shado Venutres is looking for its first engineer and future CTO. This role
begins
as a 3-week paid sprint ($15,000) to build our proof-of-concept, transitioning
to Founding CTO (3-5% equity, $180,000-220,000) upon seed close in April
2026.**
**Why This Exists**
When someone dies, families face 500 hours of administrative work—notify
Social
Security, Medicare, banks, cancel subscriptions—all without the deceased's
passwords. 3.3 million American families face this every year.
No AI automation exists. We're building the first.
**The Sprint ($15,000 for 3/4 weeks)**
Build our investor-grade proof-of-concept:
• Death certificate parser (GPT-4 Vision/Claude, 95% accuracy)
• Legal document generator (15+ institution-specific templates)
• Demo UI (Streamlit or React)
• Investor demo video
$7,500 upfront + $7,500 delivery
**The CTO Role (After Sprint)**
If we're both excited about working together:
• Title: Founding CTO / Founding Engineer (your choice)
• Equity: 3-5% (4-year vest, 1-year cliff)
• Salary: $180,000-220,000
• Role: Build entire AfterLight platform, hire engineering team
• Start: After $3.5M seed close (April 2026)
**What You 'll Own**
You will make all technical decisions:
• AI/ML architecture (GPT-4 Vision vs Claude, fine-tuning strategy)
• Infrastructure (cloud provider, scaling approach)
• Product velocity (engineering process, tools)
• Team building (hire your own team post-seed)
This is not a "senior engineer" role. This is "build the company" role.
**What We Need**
Must have:
✓ 5+ years production ML/AI engineering
✓ GPT-4 or Claude API in production (not experimentation)
✓ GitHub showing LLM projects (we review code, not just resumes)
✓ Available within 2-4 weeks
✓ 30-40 hrs/week for sprint
**Nice to have:**
* Document parsing/OCR experience
* Startup experience (even personal projects)
* Built something from 0 to 1 before
**The Market**
$5-7B underserved market, zero AI automation competitors. Strategic acquirers
identified (Rocket Companies, Trust & Will, Fidelity/Schwab).
