ApplyHow It All Started In 2025, we set out to solve one of healthcare’s most human
challenges, how to bring empathy back into digital care. As technology
reshaped the patient experience, we saw an opportunity to make it more
personal, accessible, and compassionate through voice AI. That’s how
Pythagoras AI was born. We’re building empathetic voice AI that helps care
teams scale without losing the human connection, bridging the gap between
patients and providers in areas like chronic care, behavioral health, and
remote assessments. Every interaction matters, and our mission is to make each
one feel as real and caring as a human conversation. The Team We are a team of
engineers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs driven by a shared purpose, to make
healthcare more human through technology. Our founders bring deep experience
in AI, healthcare innovation, and enterprise systems, and we’ve built a team
that combines technical excellence with compassion and curiosity. At
Pythagoras AI, we move fast, think deeply, and care fiercely. We believe that
building for healthcare means building with responsibility and precision.
Every system we design, every workflow we automate, and every conversation we
power has the potential to improve someone’s life. Mission Statement
Empowering healthcare providers with empathetic voice AI to make care safer,
more accessible, and more human. Our Values Patients first, Always. Safety,
trust, and dignity come before everything. Empathy in design. We create AI
that listens, understands, and cares. Quality and safety above all. Precision
matters when lives are involved. Curiosity drives us. We question, learn, and
innovate continuously. We grow together. Collaboration, ownership, and shared
purpose define our culture. The Role We're hiring our first Forward Deployed
Engineer to sit between our customers, our sales lead, and our engineering
team. You'll own the customer-facing side of product development:
understanding what healthcare providers actually need, shaping how Clara
behaves for each customer, and shipping the changes that make Clara work in
the real world. This is not a support role and not a pure engineering role.
You'll talk to customers daily, write code when needed, and have direct
influence over what we build next. What You'll Do Own customer relationships
post-sale. Be the primary technical point of contact for live accounts. Run
regular check-ins, troubleshoot issues, and make sure Clara is delivering
value. Translate customer needs into product. Work with our sales lead to
understand what new and prospective customers want. Identify which requests
are one-off configuration vs. real product gaps. Bring that signal back to
engineering. Ship customer-specific changes. Clara's architecture is designed
for per-customer customization through strategy files. You'll write and modify
these strategies, tune prompts, adjust call flows, and ship small features
end-to-end. Drive product improvement. You'll have more direct customer
exposure than anyone else on the team. We expect you to form strong opinions
about what to build next and advocate for them. Support implementation. Help
onboard new customers — EHR integration discovery, use case scoping, call flow
design, go-live coordination. Improve how we operate. Build internal tooling,
write runbooks, identify recurring issues, and make the team more effective
over time. What We're Looking For Required: 3+ years in a role that combined
engineering and customer-facing work (FDE, solutions engineer, implementation
engineer, technical CSM, or similar) Comfortable writing and reading
TypeScript/Node.js. You don't need to be a senior IC, but you should be able
to ship a feature, debug a bug, and review a PR Strong written and verbal
communication. You'll be on calls with clinical operations leaders, compliance
teams, and engineers, sometimes in the same week Track record of identifying
product gaps from customer conversations and driving them to resolution Self-
directed. You'll often be the only person at Pythagoras in a customer
conversation Preferred: Healthcare experience — you've worked with clinical,
operational, or compliance teams at a healthcare company. Comfortable with
HIPAA, EHR workflows, and conversations with clinical operations leaders.
