and we want you to help us shape the future of the creator economy.
**AI made answers cheap. Human judgment is becoming scarce.**
mond is the social inbox where audience questions become public creator
content. Millions of people use mond in Japan, and 12M+ questions and answers
have been exchanged — growing ~2.9× year over year, 99%+ of them addressed to
a specific person, not a generic topic. The product is proven and monetizing:
paid questions, memberships, tips, and Paid Answers.
Japan was the proof. The ambition is to take a model that already works and
build it for a global audience — from Palo Alto. Whether asking a specific
person — the one whose answer actually matters — becomes a global default is
the open question you'd be here to help answer. This is not a localization
role. The US team defines the global product and architecture, working with
Tokyo as one team. You'll own the technical design and implementation of the
US/global platform, lead the re-architecture for multi-locale and multi-
currency scale, and help launch mond in the US. As the US team scales, this
role can grow into CTO / Head of Engineering.
**How we build**
A deliberately tiny, AI-native team. The bet is that a few exceptional
engineers, using AI well, can out-build a much larger conventional team. AI is
in the critical path of how we work; judgment never is. Fast on the
mechanical, slow and deliberate on the load-bearing: architecture,
correctness, money, trust.
**What you 'll own**
Build the US/global version of mond from Palo Alto, and lead the re-
architecture of a live product with millions of users
Design the global platform layer: multi-locale, multi-currency, payments,
trust & safety, and creator monetization — you design the global backbone;
per-market buildout is shared with Tokyo
Extend the production payments ledger into a cross-market points / virtual-
currency system, where correctness means money
Build product, not just infrastructure: creator inbox, answer flow,
monetization, moderation, and early US growth loops
Set the technical roadmap with the CEO and the Tokyo Tech Lead, and help raise
the bar across a global one-team engineering culture
**Clear ownership:** you own the global platform and architecture; Tokyo owns
the proven Japan product and the system serving it today; per-market work is
shared; the CEO breaks ties fast. You lead the global platform — not as a US
satellite, but as one team with Tokyo, raising the bar together.
**Who we 're looking for**
You've done at least one of these:
* Built something 0→1 and found product-market fit
* Re-architected a live production system with real users and real money
* Worked as a founder, founding engineer, or technical lead on a product that had to scale
You're strong across product and engineering: you reason about architecture,
write code, make product calls without a perfect spec, and move fast with
users in the loop.

* TypeScript / React / Next.js / Node / cloud infrastructure
* Payments, ledger, points, virtual currency, or marketplace systems
* Creator economy, consumer social, Q&A, messaging, or community products
