_We’re building the AI operating system for dentistry_.
**The Platform**
DECA is the AI-native operating system for dentistry. We sit above legacy
Practice Management Systems as an intelligent control plane — unifying data,
orchestrating AI agents, and automating workflows across every layer of a
dental organization. Think Commure, built ground-up for dentistry.
We are not a feature. We are not a bolt-on. We are the platform.
**The Unfair Advantage**
Most pre-seed startups build in a speculative vacuum. We don’t. Our built-in
live pilot is a 7-location dental group in Texas. You ship to production on
day one.
**The Role**
You are Hire #1. Full technical ownership. No legacy codebase. No product
manager handing you specs. You architect the system every future engineer
inherits — working directly with the founder.
**What You’ll Build**
• Local Edge Synchronizer — real-time bridge between cloud AI and on-premise
OpenDental
• LangGraph AI agent orchestration across scheduling, billing, and clinical
workflows
• Temporal Cloud workflow engine for long-running dental operations
• Multi-tenant AWS platform with Aurora PostgreSQL and pgvector
• HIPAA-compliant data pipelines and audit infrastructure
• Next.js provider and admin dashboards
**Who You Are**
• 5–8+ years of backend/distributed systems engineering
• 2+ years building production LLM/agentic systems
• TypeScript/NestJS and PostgreSQL as second nature
• Python fluency for AI tooling
• Experience with LangGraph, Temporal, or equivalent
• Builder mentality — you read the roadmap and ship
**What You Get**
• $200K–$280K base
• 2.0%–4.0% equity (up to 4.0% for co-founder-adjacent profile)
• 4-year vest, 1-year cliff
• Remote-first, deep work culture
• Direct founder access — no committees, no bureaucracy
• The chance to define AI-native healthcare infrastructure
