### **Engineering Manager, Product Engineering (Full-Time)**

### **About the Role**
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a product engineering team
building high-quality, customer-facing features. This is a leadership role
focused on delivery, collaboration, and team growth — with the opportunity to
stay technically engaged.
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll support engineers in doing their best work,
partner closely with Product and Design, and help ensure we ship valuable
improvements to our users quickly and reliably.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving how work
gets done, and still wants to spend part of their time writing code, reviewing
PRs, or contributing technically alongside the team.
You’ll also play a meaningful role in our collaboration with the **Apache
Superset open source community** , helping guide work that benefits both our
customers and the broader ecosystem.

using **AI-powered development tools** to improve engineering velocity and
quality — and who are energized by building AI-enabled product experiences for
users.

### **What You’ll Do**
* **Lead and support a team of product engineers** through coaching, mentorship, and career development
* **Drive execution and delivery** of customer-facing features with strong quality and iteration
* **Partner closely with Product and Design** to shape scope, priorities, and outcomes
* **Help the team break down work effectively** and maintain healthy momentum
* **Improve team workflows and engineering practices** to support sustainable delivery
* **Stay technically engaged** , including contributing code, reviewing architecture, and supporting complex projects
* **Support the team in adopting modern AI development tools** to accelerate delivery and raise quality
* **Collaborate with the Apache Superset community** , contributing upstream improvements and engaging in open source development practices
* **Own accountability for your team’s impact** , including reliability, usability, and customer experience
* **Hire and build a strong team** as we grow

### **What We’re Looking For**
* **4+ years of experience managing software engineering teams**
* **6+ years of professional software development experience**
* Strong product mindset and experience delivering user-facing software
* Excellent collaboration and communication across engineering and product partners
* Ability to coach and support engineers at multiple levels
* Comfort navigating ambiguity and helping teams find clarity
* Strong technical judgment and ability to stay engaged in architecture and implementation
* **Experience leveraging AI tools in modern software development workflows**
* Interest in building product features that incorporate AI in thoughtful, user-centered ways
* Appreciation for open source software development and community collaboration

### **Bonus Points**
* Experience building SaaS products or data/analytics platforms
* Prior experience in the **BI / modern data ecosystem**
* Familiarity with tools such as **dbt, Cube, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Mode, or similar platforms**
* Experience contributing to or maintaining open source projects
* Experience scaling product engineering teams in a growing company
* Experience building AI-enabled developer or analytics experiences
