💰 $150,000 - $225,000 🌍 Atlanta, Georgia 📅 12/23/2025
**About us:** The US transportation industry faces a trust gap with AI.
Government agencies see the potential, but adoption remains limited. They need
AI they can trust. Numobility builds trustworthy AI for transportation. We
empower transportation planners, engineers, and researchers to confidently
adopt AI through human-AI collaboration.
**Key Wins:**
* 🏆 USDOT ARPA-I Ideas Challenge Awardee (Top 3% of teams nationwide)
* 🏆 USDOT AI for Transportation Planning & Design Awardee (Top 4% of teams nationwide)
* 🤝 Partnering with transportation industry leaders from government transportation agencies, engineering firms, universities, and technology companies ________________________________________ **The Opportunity:** We're looking for a technical co-founder and CTO who is excited to build trustworthy AI that delivers safer roads for all. Early wins with USDOT provide strong customer validation for our solution concept in a $100B+ TAM market with high barriers to entry.
This is a true partnership with our Founder and CEO, who brings 15+ years of
experience helping government agencies and their partners transform the built
environment and infrastructure through technology for good.
Our delivery model follows the forward deployed engineer (FDE) approach, where
teams embed with customer agencies to land and expand, supported by a scalable
solutions and back-end platform that evolves over time.

**What We’ll Build Together** : As an early-stage CTO, you'll lead both
technical vision and hands-on building of an AI-powered, multi-tenant platform
for transportation customers. Together, we will build:
**Front-End: Planning Intelligence Interface**
* Geospatial Intelligence Engine: A "single pane of glass" integrating infrastructure data, planning documents, and design guidelines with conversational AI
* Workflow Orchestration: AI co-pilots for scenario analysis, forecasting, and project prioritization—human-in-the-loop at every decision
**Back-End: Data Infrastructure**
* Data Integration Layer: Unified APIs connecting both GIS datasets (e.g. GeoJSON) and structured datasets into data lake
* Multi-tenant architecture on AWS/Azure/GCP
**AI Evaluation: Trustworthy AI Foundation**
* AI Benchmark Platform: Automated evaluation of AI models and agents on benchmarks that measure knowledge and performance on transportation work
* Explainability Infrastructure: Real-time interpretability, bias detection, audit trails, and compliance reporting ________________________________________ **Who You Are** : You're a builder who thrives on hard technical problems with real-world impact. You can architect the full platform while getting your hands dirty in code.
**Core Technical Capabilities:**
AI/ML production experience – You've built and deployed AI systems in the real
world
* Modern ML stack: LLMs, RAG, multi-agent systems, or similar
* MLOps fundamentals: monitoring, evaluation, deployment
* AI trustworthiness: explainability, bias detection, validation frameworks
Platform engineering – You can architect complete SaaS systems
* Backend: APIs, databases, data pipelines (especially geospatial or complex structured data)
* Cloud: AWS/Azure/GCP multi-tenant architecture
* Frontend or full-stack: Interactive UIs, data visualization, conversational interfaces
Shipped products – You've taken systems from 0→1 to production, not just
prototypes
**Experience That Makes You Stronger:**
Built in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government) where trust
and compliance are non-negotiable
Research background (PhD, publications) that brings credibility with federal
agencies and academic partners
Startup experience as CTO or founding engineer—comfortable with ambiguity and
resource constraints
Bonus: Transportation Systems, Government Technology, GIS experience

**Culture & Working Style**
How we operate:
* Pattern recognition— our domain allows us to see signals where others see noise
* Bias toward action—ship, learn, iterate; good > perfect
* Long-game conviction—government contracts take time but tend to stick
What partnership looks like:
* Communicate with clarity, purpose, and respect
* Make hard decisions together—choose with conviction, commit, and grow into it
* Open-minded, light-hearted – helps us live to fight another day ________________________________________ **What We Offer** : We're looking for a true partnership of equals with commensurate equity and voice in strategic direction. Someone who is excited to transform the way people and products move across the US.
This is a pre-revenue, pre-seed founding opportunity. We've secured non-
dilutive federal funding ($220K from USDOT) for R&D and have a strong pipeline
for additional grants ($200K - $1M+). Market-rate salary begins upon agreed
milestone: seed funding close, revenue threshold, or SBIR award—expected
within 6-12 months. If you need $150K+ salary from day one, this won't be the
right fit.
If you want co-founder equity in a mission that shapes transportation
infrastructure, with a clear path to market compensation as we hit milestones,
let's talk.Hybrid work available, with bonus points for being Atlanta-based.
