We are a startup, offering online live math tutoring for middle school and
high school students. We employ credentialed teachers as tutors during their
summer break and off-the-shelf IXL curriculum materials to help students catch
up and get ahead in math. Using competency-based progress and individual
attention as needed, we deliver the results of one-on-one tutoring at a
fraction of the cost. Our services will be sold directly to parents of
students in grades 7-12 and ages 12 to 18, with a focus on those who will have
beginning algebra in the fall.
We are recruiting a Co-Founder with management experience in education. You
will collaborate with our CEO to create and manage a company dedicated to
launching teens on a path to academic success in high school and college. We
do this by guiding students in experiencing the power of learning by
practicing and persevering to mastery, one lesson after another, in math and
other subjects.
Your key responsibilities include:
Operational Responsibilities
• Manage the recruiting. Selection, training and supervision of teachers and
the marketing, advertising, PR, and sales of our services. Our target audience
is families with students who could and should be doing better in math and
other subjects, but who lack the necessary prerequisites for their fall
courses, and the learning skills, motivation, and confidence to learn
efficiently.
Customer and Community Relations
• Lead our efforts to serve our students, their parents, and the community by
delivering on our promise to help students reach their potential in school and
life. This entails explaining what we do and how it works to individual
parents, the community, school administrators and faculty, and society in
general.
Business Management
• With our CEO, you will lead the company to profitable and sustainable
operations, building our reputation for delivering priceless value at an
affordable price.
What you bring to us:
• College degree, required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Competent in high school math.
• 5 years of teaching or tutoring experience with teens.
• 5 years of management experience in education, tutoring, or a service-based
business.
• Knowledge of K-12 math, online learning platforms, and live virtual
instruction.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth, quality, and customer
satisfaction
