ClasSync AI is building the missing layer between coursework and student-used
AI: a study platform that syncs to LMS systems, organizes real class
materials, and delivers grounded AI help with verification and source
transparency. We’re looking for a hands-on CTO to own the technical vision and
ship the product end-to-end.
Here's what you'll do:
Lead the architecture and development of the ClasSync AI product (web app +
backend + AI services)
Build LMS integrations (Canvas, Google Classroom; later Schoology, etc.) using
OAuth and approved APIs
Design a retrieval + grounding pipeline (RAG) that cites teacher materials and
minimizes hallucinations
Implement verification and safety features (confidence signals, guardrails,
monitoring, logging)
Own security/privacy-by-design: encryption, access controls, secure tokens,
least-privilege, auditability
Establish engineering best practices: code quality, CI/CD, testing,
staging/production environments
Move fast with the founder and designer: translate prototypes into production
UI with clean UX
Hire/lead engineers over time (starting as the primary builder)
What we're looking for:
Strong full-stack fundamentals (modern frontend + backend APIs + databases)
Experience shipping production SaaS products (ideally 0→1 or early-stage)
Comfortable with AI product development (LLM APIs, retrieval, evaluation,
prompt design)
Experience with integrations and auth (OAuth 2.0, webhooks, third-party APIs)
Security-minded and privacy-first (especially around education data)
High ownership, clear communicator, good judgment, low ego
