Job Description

**Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Founding Member - TraceChain**

TraceChain is seeking an innovative engineering leader with a passion for AI
and building scalable software systems to join us as Chief Technology Officer
(CTO) and founding member. If you have a strong background in delivering
scalable and intelligent software products and a proven track record of
driving innovation, we want to hear from you!

**About TraceChain**

TraceChain is at the forefront of developing AI-driven intelligence software
that enables companies to track the traceability of their products throughout
the supply chain. Imagine an apple in a grocery store. With our solution,
consumers can trace its entire journey from the farm to the store, ensuring
transparency and trust in the supply chain. Our solution addresses the
increasing demands of governmental regulations by providing a robust,
scalable, and user-friendly platform that ensures compliance and enhances
transparency for businesses worldwide.

Our vision is to become the industry leader in the rapidly growing, multi-
billion dollar supply chain traceability market by providing access to a
simpler and scalable AI-based solution that enables compliance with rapidly
approaching global ESG and food safety regulations.

**Traction:** We have made significant strides in our journey:

* Secured multiple design partners who will guide product development and give us our initial revenues.
* Built a founding executive team with deep expertise and connections in supply chain management, including veterans from PSQR, KraftHeinz, Woolworths Australia, Sears, ToysRUs, DutyFree, Coles Australia, Tesla, Tradeshift, Ahold Delhaize, Fraunhofer, and USC Supply Chain. Our team also includes technology leadership from Stanford, Tesla, DoorDash, and ThoughtSpot ($4 billion AI startup).
* Attracted multiple investors, providing strong financial backing and industry credibility.

**Role Overview**

The CTO at TraceChain will be responsible for leading the product development

code, deliver the first product, iterate the product with our customers, and
scale the team and technology. The CTO will own the product development
process, ensuring it is delivered with quality, speed, and intelligence.

team, developing scalable and intelligent software systems, and willing to
roll up their sleeves and do the hard work to go from zero to one.

The CTO must be able to communicate technical concepts plainly and clearly
with the CEO and the rest of the executive team, providing guidance on
engineering implementations for desired product flows.

This is a rare opportunity to join a startup at the ground level in a fast-

already secured major customers.

* Hire the initial engineering team and build a world-class engineering team.
* Write the first lines of code and deliver the initial product.

* Drive the technological vision and implementation to align with business goals.
* Oversee cloud infrastructure deployment and management of AI models.
* Collaborate with the frontend team to ensure seamless backend integration.
* Communicate technical concepts plainly and clearly with the CEO and the rest of the executive team, providing guidance on engineering implementations for desired product flows.

**Required Experience**

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
* Minimum of 4 years of full stack or backend software engineering experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
* Deep knowledge of full stack engineering, with deep experience in at least one popular backend framework like NodeJS, Java, Django, etc.
* Experience scaling large data systems, including proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
* Excitement for and knowledge about implementing cutting-edge AI systems.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
* Clear communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical ideas simply to non-technical people.
* Ability to hire engineers and build a world-class engineering team.
* Ability to assess technology-related partnerships and vendors, understanding the benefits and tradeoffs.
* Humility and a strong work ethic.

**Nice to Have**

* Experience in the supply chain space.
* Personal portfolio of past work for our team to easily see the quality of your work.

**Job Highlights**

* **Remote-First:** Enjoy the flexibility of working remotely.
* **Equity Opportunity:** Significant equity in an early-stage startup.
* **Collaborative Culture:** Participate in daily standups and close team collaboration.
