### About Us
We are a startup building [AI-powered customer support
automation](https://trychad.com) for ecommerce stores. Within a month of
public launch, we got 60+ B2B customers and are growing fast.
Our team is small, engineering-driven, and consists of top operators whoβve
worked at Amazon, Alibaba, and even one guy who worked directly for the CTO of
Affirm and the founder of eBay. As a backend engineer, you will play a crucial
role in architecting and building out the core systems and API integrations
that power our self-serve product and AI workflows.
### What youβll be doing
1. Design system architectures.
2. Write production quality code.
3. Set up cloud infrastructure and manage backend deployments to cloud.
4. Implement testing (eg: unit tests, Playwright), data monitoring (eg: Amplitude) and error tracking (eg: Sentry) on the features you develop.
5. Write clear docs, share your expertise with other engineers.
6. [Optional] Expand features and improve the reliability, accuracy, and speed of our LLM orchestration.
### Requirements
1. 3-5 years of experience building robust and performant backend systems using modern technology. At Chad, we use Python, FastAPI, asyncio, OAuth2.0, Pub/Sub (Protobuf), and Google Firestore (NoSQL).
2. Deep understanding of backend development best practices, including system design, performance optimization, async frameworks, and scalable architecture.
3. Take initiative and get things done.
4. Quickly evaluate tradeoffs and make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced, changing, and often unclear environment.
5. Proficient in English with strong communication and collaboration skills (we perform deep integrations with external APIs and most of the documentation you encounter will be in English.)
### Perks
We strongly believe in trust, freedom, and personal responsibility.
1. Unlimited vacation days
2. Fully remote, async team
3. Flexible work hours
If you're passionate about building robust, scalable backend systems and want
to play a key role in shaping the backend that powers our product, we'd love
to hear from you!
